Artemis- 100% Pewter Necklace
Artemis, most often depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrow and known as Diana to the Romans, was the Greek goddess of the hunt, wild animals and wilderness, childbirth, virginity, the protector of young girls, and the bringer and reliever of disease among women. She was the daughter of Leus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo. Artemis believed that the Fates had chosen her to be a midwife as she assisted in the birth of her twin brother.
All of her companions remained virgins, and Artemis closely guarded her own chastity despite having several suitors including her hunting companion, Orion. Several animals were associated with Artemis including the stag, hunting dogs, the bear and the boar. At Ephesus in lonia (modern day Turkey) her temple depicts her as a fertility goddess with multiple rounded breasts. As sister of Apollo, the sun god, she is also equated with Selene, the titian goddess of the moon
