Thorn & Moon Victorian Spider Web Patch
The Spider, because of its weaving characteristics, has come to be associated by mystics with magic and the energy of creation. It is a symbol of creative power, reflected in its ability to spin a silken web. It is associated with assertiveness and the connection between past and future.
Spiders are also found to be connected to Halloween or Samhain, seemingly that spiders are related to death because of the venom they carry. This venom is of course also used as basis for the antidote, connecting the Spider both to death and rebirth and thus she stands for the completion of the circle.
This Victorian Spider Web Patch is screen printed by hand with white silkscreen ink on a durable black canvas, featuring a spider on its delicately spun web. It measures 5.5" x 8".
Patches can be worn sewn to a clothing item such as a jacket, backpack, or purse. They can also be laid upon an altar, or displayed in a frame like the work of art that they are.
