Class will be taught by Coby Michael, author of the book, The Poison Path Herbal, and visiting us from St. Petersburg, Florida.

Also known as solanaceae, the nightshade family consists of plants such as mandrake, thorn apple and belladonna but also common plants like tomato and potato. Some members of this family are deadly poison and other make up some of our most common food crops. The deadly and intoxicating members of the nighsthade family are known as hexing herbs or witching herbs and have been associated with witchcraft and sorcery since antiquity. In this class we will explore the history and folklore of some of the most famous nightshades, look at their physical characteristics and learn to apply these plants safely and effectively in magic. Through understanding and working with our poison plant allies, we come to a deeper understanding of occult herbalism and how to work with the hidden qualities of plants. Coby will demonstrate how to make plant spirit fetishes & glyphs to connect with the plant spirits.
